Research

So far in my research, I have gathered copies of several magazine covers which I have begun to analyse, making annotations of my observations - such as noting any typical conventions shared between the different styles of both school and music magazines, etc.

I will hopefully complete these within the next few days, hopefully including scans/photographs of the work in my next few blogs.
As a method of building upon my ideas for the main task, I have also drafted a questionnaire to be handed out both around the 6th Form and elsewhere, in order to gain an insight into the genre of music magazine which is most popular, the sorts of image people expect to see on the front cover, and what articles readers tend to most prefer.

A draft of the questionnaire can be seen above.

Welcome to my Media blog

In year 12, I was set the coursework task of creating 2 magazines. The first of these being a school magazine and the other, a music magazine.

The Preliminary Task is to create the front cover and a draft of the contents page of a school magazine, whilst the Main Task is to create the front cover, contents page, and double-page spread of a music magazine.

I intend to research both of these genres of magazines, either by finding sources online, or purchasing the magazines themselves, making notes and annotations on the page styles I will be required to create as part of my coursework, so that I may develop my own ideas; from this, I will begin to draft my own designs, deciding eventually on one final design which I will submit as a final piece.
